TheWheelTShirtfront  Front of shirt
The design of this shirt is based on the Grateful Dead song "The Wheel". Designed by Rob Helmsetter of Foundations Design and produced by Grateful Graphics, this is a limited edition shirt that has a lot of cool things going on that tie into the song... note the robins at the top "round, round robin run around" and the lightning bolts  "if the thunder don't get you then the lightning will," and in the center "the four winds (to) blow you safely home."

Tying it all together, a wagon wheel, perhaps a country homage to "The Wheel" and an acknowlegment of brotherhood to country and bluegrass with their counterpart, "Will the Circle Be Unbroken."

The Grateful Dead was always known for generosity and the performance of numerous benefits. In the fall of 1983, the Rex Foundation was established as a non-profit charitable organization by members of the Grateful Dead and friends to further this tradition. The Rex Foundation enabled the Grateful Dead to go beyond responding to multiple requests for contributions, and proactively provide extensive community support to creative endeavors in the arts, sciences, and education. The first benefit concerts for the Rex Foundation were held in the spring of 1984 at the Marin Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium. Since 1984 the Rex Foundation has granted $8.6 million to over 1,000 recipients

The Rex Foundation is named after Rex Jackson, a Grateful Dead roadie and later road manager until his untimely death in 1976.
